Car hits boy now in critical condition

RUNDU, 09 FEB (NAMPA) – A nine-year-old boy is in a critical condition after a car at Ndama settlement in Rundu hit him on Wednesday.
The incident took place around 14h00 said Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Kavango East Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton.
Bampton told Nampa on Thursday a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened against a 54-year-old German man who was traveling west to east on the Trans-Caprivi Highway.
The boy was crossing the road when hit by the vehicle and sustained serious injuries in the mouth.
He was rushed to the Rundu State Hospital.
Bampton said the case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor General for consideration.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
