UPDATE: Zambezi Regional Commander no more

WINDHOEK, 07 FEB (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Zambezi Regional Commander, Boniface Mukendwa died Monday afternoon at his house in Katima Mulilo.
He was 60 years old.
NamPol Major-General, Desiderius Shilunga confirmed this to Nampa on Monday.
Mukendwa was trained as a constable in 1995 at the Leopards Valley Military Base, located 20 kilometres south of Windhoek.
He was later promoted to a warrant officer in 1998.
In 2001, he was promoted to an inspector and in 2006, Mukendwa was promoted to chief inspector and became a deputy commissioner in 2007.
Mukendwa was then promoted to commissioner, and at his time of death served as Zambezi regional commander since 2014.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
Details on the funeral arrangements will be announced in due cause.
