WINDHOEK, 07 FEB (NAMPA) – First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) Foundation on Tuesday donated administrative equipment to the Tobias Hainyeko Secondary Project School.
The equipment includes a scanner, photocopier and 120 scientific calculators valued at N.dollars 103 697.
Principal Brian Ndabeni said with the donation, they no longer have to make use of the Frans Indongo Primary School, Teachers Resource Centre (TRC) and Government printers for copies.
“Making use of outside equipment is something of the past,” said Ndabeni.
He explained that the donation will enhance the academic performance of learners, specifically in the area of Mathematics with regard to the calculators.
The school was established in 2014 due to the high demand for education and influx of people to the Okahandja Park informal settlement.
A building for the project school is under construction and some lessons take place in tents.
Ndabeni said education is a fundamental right for everyone and is capable of bringing the desired change to society.
FNB representative, Rehabeam Auala, said the Foundation hopes the donation will serve to improve the teaching and learning environment at the school, and ensure learners will have all they need to excel.
