Mentally ill man commits suicide

OSHAKATI, 07 FEB (NAMPA) - A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide on Monday afternoon at the Onaame-Omulonga village in the Oshikoto Region.
Police reports issued by the region's Crime Investigations Coordinator, Naomi Katjiua said the incident happened at around 16h00.
It is alleged that the deceased, Fillemon Kakwambi, received treatment for a mental illness.
He was found hanging from the roof of his room with a rope around his neck.
Kakwambi was discovered by his brother and no suicide note was found.
In an unrelated matter in the same region, a woman was allegedly raped at around 02h30 on Saturday at the Oscar Norich football stadium in Tsumeb.
It is alleged that the 21-year-old victim was on her way to the Kuvukiland informal settlement after spending some time at a bar when she was attacked and raped by an unknown man.
No arrest has been made yet and police investigations continue.
