Three women raped over the weekend

WINDHOEK, 05 FEB (NAMPA) – An unknown man on Thursday allegedly raped a 15-year-old intellectually disabled girl at the Onamundidi village in the Oshikoto Region.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi told a media briefing on Sunday that the suspect, a 51-year-old man, allegedly pulled the victim into his sleeping hut where he raped her at an unknown time.
Kanguatjivi did not indicate whether the arrested suspect and victim are related.
In a different development, two men allegedly raped a 44-year-old woman at the Oshivelo Southern Location on Thursday.
Kanguatjivi said the two suspects allegedly followed the complainant while she was walking home and sexually violated her at about 22h00.
The men, aged 33 and 26, were arrested and are expected to appear in the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
And in Windhoek, a man was Saturday arrested for allegedly raping a 37-year-old woman and assaulting another woman at the Rocky Crest Somerton flats.
The 27-year-old suspect allegedly met the victim in Khomasdal and went with her to his flat in Rocky Crest where he raped her at around 04h00.
He allegedly then assaulted his girlfriend after the rape incident. It is not clear where she was during the rape incident.
The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in court this week.
