KEETMANSHOOP, 04 FEB (NAMPA) Hundreds of people are gathered at the J. S Stephanus Stadium in Tseiblaagte in Keetmanshoop for a mass meeting on land to be addressed by former deputy minister, Bernadus Swartbooi.
Several groups of people from elsewhere in the country, most notably Windhoek, are also at this meeting. They include Swanu of Namibia President Usutuaije Maamberua, Ida Hoffman of the Nama Genocide Technical Genocide Committee and land activists, Uhuru Dempers and Sima Luipert.
Other representatives of note are the Nama and Otjiherero traditional authorities of Hardap and Omaheke regions.
On arrival, Swartbooi was greeted with a loud applause. People cheered as some described him as 'the son of God' and their leader.
An emotional Swartbooi took off his glasses, wiped his eyes before waving to people gathered in the fully-packed stadium.
