Man dies after being run over at Khorixas

KHORIXAS, 01 FEB (NAMPA) – One man died and another was injured in an accident at Khorixas on Tuesday.
It is alleged that the 71-year-old driver of a sedan lost control of the vehcile and drove into the two pedestrians who were walking next to the road between Khorixas and Fransfontein at 20h44.
The name of the deceased could not be released as his next of kin were still to be informed of his death.
The injured pedestrian has been identified as the 23-year-old Naftali Amutenya.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations Coordinator in the Kunene Region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa Amutenya has been admitted to the Khorixas State Hospital and would be transferred to Windhoek on Wednesday.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened against the driver.
