Police confiscate Cannabis in Kamanjab

KAMANJAB, 24 JAN (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kunene Region on Monday evening confiscated Cannabis at Kamanjab worth about N.dollars 1 200.
NamPol Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator for Kunene, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa on Tuesday the police received a tip-off about drugs hidden at two different houses.
A prompt action was instituted and 20 consignments of pure Cannabis with a street value of N. dollars 255 was found at the house of a 52-year-old Namibian citizen.
Another 75 consignments of the illegal substance were found at the house of a 35-year-old woman and valued at N. dollars 960.
“Both the Cannabis and the money (undisclosed amount) were confiscated as it is believed that the money was acquired through illegal dealings,” Kanyetu said.
The suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in the Kamanjab Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
