ONGWEDIVA, 17 JAN (NAMPA) – Angolan nationals staying at a guest house in Ongwediva’s Valombola residential area were robbed of their valuables on Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Oshana Region, Warrant Officer Thomas Aiyambo told Nampa in a telephonic interview on Tuesday the incident occurred near the guest house.
It is not clear how many people were in the group that was robbed of N.dollars 14 000 in cash, a laptop and an iPhone.
“The five suspects drove away in a white Toyota RunX without registration (number plates),” he said.
Aiyambo added that the car’s rear windshield was damaged.
“The victims smashed the windshield before they could get away, which is going to be very helpful to us in our search,” he said.
The car headed towards Ongwediva’s Omatando settlement.
Aiyambo urged the public, especially car repair companies, to be on the lookout for the suspects.
