WINDHOEK, 14 JAN (NAMPA) – Items thought to be used in a ritual were found near a grave in the Katutura Cemetery on Saturday.
City Police spokesperson Fabian Amukwelele told Nampa at the scene the security guard had just started her shift at 05h00 when she discovered a chicken with a knife stuck in its body wrapped in black and red cloth.
“There was also some blood and it appears to be a ritual as these items where found right next to a grave,”Amukwelele said.
A number of needles, an empty bottle of methylated spirits and a torn box were found a few metres from the same grave.
The City Police spokesperson said the law prohibits such activities and warned the public against trespassing, vandalising or in any way altering cemeteries.
He appealed to the public to visit cemeteries within the permitted times – between 07h00 and 17h00.
The Katutura Cemetery is located between the Dolam and Golgotha residential areas.
