Tourist found dead at Halali campsite

OSHAKATI, 12 JAN (NAMPA) - The body of a German tourist was Thursday found at the Halali campsite in the Etosha National Park.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Oshikoto Region, Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua told Nampa Thursday the man’s body was discovered at around 10h00 by a Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) employee.
Halali Area Manager, Paulus Amukoto notified Police immediately.
The 49-year-old tourist died while seated in his camping chair and officers who attended to the scene found an asthma inhaler in his bag.
He reportedly arrived at the campsite alone on Wednesday.
His name could not be released, as his next of kin have not been informed.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of his death.
