OPUWO, 09 JAN (NAMPA) – One person died and three others were injured Saturday morning when the car they were traveling in overturned on the Etanga/Opuwo road.
According to a Namibian Police Force report issued on Monday, the unlicensed 19-year-old driver will be charged with culpable homicide and driving a vehicle without a driver’s licence when he appears in court this week.
It is alleged the driver lost control over the Toyota pick-up for an unknown reason, causing the vehicle to overturn and resulting in the death of one of the four passengers, excluding the driver.
The owner presumably gave him the car before the accident happened at about 09h00.
The injured were taken to the Opuwo State Hospital where they received treatment and are in a stable condition.
