OPUWO, 08 JAN (NAMPA) – A 57-year-old man was Thursday found dead at around 13h00 in Opuwo.
The deceased was identified as Hepute Zamboora.
Acting Regional Commander of the Namibian Police Force, Deputy Commissioner, Natangwe Iita told Nampa on Friday Zamboora was on his way to hospital and when he arrived at Cuvelai Bottle Store, he felt weak and sat down to rest. He died while sitting there, and was declared dead on arrival at the Opuwo State Hospital.
In another incident, an eight-year-old boy on Thursday drowned in a pond at the Ekoto village.
Police did not provide further information of the circumstances but urged parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts.
“Parents should know where their children are at all times,” said Iita.
This is not the first incident of a child drowning in a pond in the region. Late last year, three children drowned in a pond at the Omao village in the Sesfontein Constituency.
