Man allegedly commits suicide by hanging at Okamatapati

OTJIWARONGO, 07 JAN (NAMPA) – A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Thursday evening at the Okamatapati settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region.
The police said Umuna Kahimunu was found hanging from a tree behind his house by a passer-by on Friday morning.
Head of Operations for the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Otjozondjupa, Deputy Commissioner Moses Khairabeb confirmed the incident to Nampa on Friday.
Okamatapati is situated over 100 kilometres east of Okakarara.
“The motive behind the alleged suicide is still unknown to us, because he did not leave behind any suicide note,” said Khairabeb.
Kahimunu was from Okakango-Erindi village in the Okamatapati area. His close relatives have already been informed of his death.
No foul play is suspected so far and an inquest docket has been opened at the Okamatapati Police Station.
