WINDHOEK, 02 JAN (NAMPA) – The woman found dead under a bridge in Khomasdal on Sunday has been identified as 34-year-old Brenda Mouton-Smith.
City Police Spokesperson Fabian Amukwelele said Monday her next of kin have been informed.
Mouton-Smith’s partially-decomposed body was found by passers-by who were using the riverbed as a shortcut.
The deceased was half-naked.
Women’s clothes, a mattress and blankets were found at the scene.
A close friend who asked not to be named told Nampa Sunday Mouton-Smith had her own home but would never spend time there, “because she was always running after that guy (boyfriend) and sleep under that bridge”.
The friend said Mouton-Smith’s home is in the “Gemengde” residential area in the Katutura vicinity.
A man who saw Mouton-Smith on Friday, said she had inherited money from her late mother.
“She had recently received a large sum of money and immediately disappeared again from home, leaving her one-and-a-half-year-old baby.”
She had three children: two from the current boyfriend, and another from a previous relationship.
