OTJIWARONGO, 31 DEC (NAMPA) - Two men were on Friday arrested at Otjiwarongo for allegedly dealing in cannabis and mandrax.
The men, aged 32 and 33, were arrested after a tip-off from a member of the public that they were in possession of cannabis and mandrax tablets at a house in Tsaraxa-Aibes informal settlement of Otjiwarongo.
“Upon searching the house, 15 brown parcels of cannabis and nine tablets of mandrax were found there,” said the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Otjozondjupa regional duty officer, Detective Inspector Michael Amamub on Saturday morning.
Amamub said the police also confiscated N.dollars 1 110 in cash that was found together with the prohibited drugs.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is N.dollars 17 000.
It is suspected the men were selling the drugs.
They are expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Police investigations in the matter continue.
