Woman commits suicide at Onhimbu

WINDHOEK, 29 DEC (NAMPA) – A 39-year-old woman on Wednesday allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with an electric cord in her sleeping room at the Onhimbu informal settlement around Outapi in the Omusati Region.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) acting spokesperson, Inspector Tashiya Kadhila told Nampa on Thursday the deceased was found at about 08h00 after she was last seen on Tuesday evening.
She has been identified as Lahiya Penovanhu Jakob.
Her body was transported to the Okahao Police Mortuary for a post mortem.
An inquest has been opened at the Outapi Police Station.
Her next of kin have been informed.
