Two suicides in Kavango East Region

RUNDU, 27 DEC (NAMPA) – A 37-year-old man on Monday allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a wire from a tree at Tjeye village in the Rundu District.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Kavango East regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Monday the incident took place at around 10h00.
Bampton said Johannes Ihemba hanged himself with a wire from a tree next to his house.
No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected.
His next of kin have been informed and police investigation into the matter continues.
Meanwhile at Korokosha village in the Mukwe Constituency and on the same day, a 22-year-old man allegedly also took his life in the same manner but using a rope in his sleeping hut.
No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected.
He has been identified as Dikuwa Kangere.
His next of kin have been informed and police investigation into the matter continues.
