RUNDU, 25 DEC (NAMPA) - A head-on collision between two vehicles on the Trans-Caprivi highway in Rundu caused serious injuries to nine people including drivers of both cars here on Saturday.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Kavango East regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Sunday that the accident took place at Kanyanga village in the Mukwe constituency.
Bampton explained that a Toyota sedan, which was driving from east to west, collided head-on with an Isuzu pick-up travelling in the opposite direction.
It is alleged that the driver of the Isuzu pick-up lost control of the vehicle causing the collision.
The drivers and the seven passengers in both vehicles sustained serious injuries.
The Toyota sedan carried three passengers whilst the Isuzu pick-up had four.
They were taken to the Rundu State Hospital for medical treatment.
