WINDHOEK, 21 DEC (NAMPA) – The MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy is on a tour of northern Namibia to showcase the two belts won by Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo.
Indongo was earlier this month crowned the new International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) world super lightweight champion after beating Russia’s Eduard Troyanovsky in Moscow.
He did so in just 40 seconds of their scheduled 12-round bout.
Indongo received the two belts held by Troyanovsky.
The 33-year-old is the first Namibian to hold two world titles at once and the fourth world champion in Namibia after Harry Simon, Paulus Moses and Paulus Ambunda.
Indongo is undefeated in 21 fights and 11 knockouts since going professional in July 2009.
Chairperson of the boxing stable, Nestor Tobias said they want the Namibian nation to see the belts as they belong to them.
“We are on a road tour in Oshana Region tomorrow (Thursday) to parade the belts in the towns of Ondangwa, Ongwediva and Oshakati and then present the belt to the governor’s office,” Tobias told Nampa Wednesday.
He said the tour will take them through the country because they want all Namibians to see the belts.
