WINDHOEK, 15 DEC (NAMPA) - A man caught breaking into a house in Windhoek was arrested by the City Police on Thursday.
His three accomplices managed to get away with three laptops stolen from the house in the Pionierspark residential area.
City Police Senior Superintendent Gerry Shikesho told the media on Thursday a call was received just before lunch about a house-breaking in the area and a team of officers was immediately dispatched to the location.
“The four suspects ran into the mountains but we blocked all exits and managed to arrest one of them,” Shikesho said.
The man who was arrested is a known offender, he added.
The suspects stole jewellery, which was scattered in the bushes as they ran away, and a flat screen TV which was recovered in the bushy area behind Rocky Crest.
The three suspects who got away had the laptops in their possession.
Shikesho said this was the third house-breaking in the area in two days and thus warned members of the public to not leave their houses and premises unattended or to inform the City of Police if they are going away so they can regularly patrol the area.
