WINDHOEK, 02 DEC (NAMPA) - Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region will host this year’s Annual National Arts and Cultural Festival (ANACF).
The festival will be held at the town's sport stadium from 06 to 10 December.
A statement availed to Nampa by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture this week said approximately 1 500 cultural practitioners and exhibitors will showcase Namibia’s cultural diversity during the event.
Initiated in 1995, the ANACF recognises culture and heritage as an important right for all Namibians and creates a platform for the celebration of both.
The festival is organised by the Directorate of National Heritage and Culture Programmes under the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.
Last year, the national festival was held at Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region.
This year’s theme is ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage: Keeping Culture Alive’.
