Burnt body of young man found in Goreanagab

WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) – The burnt body of an 18-year-old man was discovered in the Goreangab informal settlement in Windhoek on Tuesday.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson, Inspector Kauna Shikwambi told Nampa in a telephonic interview on Wednesday the body was found by a member of the community who alerted the police.
Shikwambi said dry grass and matches were found next to the partially burnt body.
The deceased has been identified as Oscar Jean Jean, who was a learner at Hochland High School.
The inspector said it is not clear whether his body was dumped there or if Jean set himself on fire there.
His next of kin have been informed.
The body was taken to the Windhoek Police Mortuary for a post-mortem.
The police have asked anyone with information on the matter to contact them.
Police investigations continue.
