WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) – The Namibian Volleyball Federation (NVF) has announced a landmark partnership with Refuse Solutions and The Dome Swakopmund.
A media statement availed to Nampa on Thursday said Refuse Solutions is sponsoring and constructing a beach volleyball facility at The Dome complex.
It will be able to house two international-size beach volleyball courts, ready for the Refuse Solutions Zone 6 Beach Volleyball Club Championships on 18 and 19 December.
The beach facility can also be adapted to accommodate four courts for local tournaments and everyday use.
Refuse Solutions Director, Lee Coetzee commented on the partnership, saying “We are enthusiastic about the development of this great sport and proud to work side by side with The Dome and the Namibian Volleyball Federation in developing beach volleyball in Namibia”.
Refuse Solutions will also be sponsoring four beach volleyball coaching clinics, four local tournaments hosted by Timeout Beach Volleyball Academy, and two Namibian national team training camps, led by national beach volleyball coach, James Verrinder, at the new facility in 2017.
Verrinder, who is also the NVF Director of Beach Volleyball, said the beach volleyball commission at the NVF is very excited about this ground-breaking partnership and is looking forward to continuing developing beach volleyball.
He added that although the beaches are a fantastic place to play beach volleyball, it is important to have a permanent beach facility that can be accessed by anyone interested in playing the sport without having to buy their own equipment.
Dave Hammond, sales and marketing manager at The Dome, said the facility is a one-stop shop, where everything is under one roof.
The Refuse Solutions beach volleyball coaching clinic dates at The Dome in 2017 are 04 March; 22 April; 09 September and 11 November.
The beach volleyball tournaments at The Dome in 2017 are 05 March; 23 April; 10 September and 12 November.
