WINDHOEK, 21 NOV (NAMPA) – The Roads Authority (RA) said delayed capital road projects envisaged for the 2016/17 financial year will be completed by early next year.
RA Manager of Corporate Communications, Hileni Fillemon said in a media statement issued Friday, the Oranjemund-Rosh Pinah and Oshakati-Omungwelume-Ongenga road construction projects are expected to be completed by May and March 2017, respectively.
All works on Section Three (Phase One) of the Windhoek-Okahandja road, which was supposed to have been completed in July 2016, will now be completed by the end of February 2017.
Portions of this road are expected to be open for traffic by mid-December this year.
Section Two of the same road which runs from Dobra River Bridge to Omakunde River Bridge just before the Osona Village, is progressing well with no suspensions issued.
Operations on the Windhoek-Hosea Kutako International Airport road extension have however been affected due to non-payment of some invoices, Fillemon noted.
