Police offer reward for fugitive murder suspect

WINDHOEK, 17 NOV (NAMPA)- The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) is offering a reward of N.dollars 5 000 in cash to any person or persons who can provide information that would lead to the re-arrest of murder suspect and fugitive, George Natangwe Nyanyukweni Ananias.
NamPol Spokesperson, Inspector Slogan Matheus said in a media statement availed to Nampa on Thursday that the 36-year-old Ananias escaped from police custody while making a court appearance at Karibib Magistrate's Court in April 2003.
He has been on the run since that day and police efforts to track him down have been unsuccessful.
Ananias was arrested on cases of murder and attempted murder for the alleged killing of the Gruber couple from Germany, the incident in which the woman was killed and the man shot but survived in the Usakos area during September 2002.
He is further facing three cases of housebreaking and theft allegedly committed in the farming areas around Usakos and Karibib in Erongo Region.
Ananias is originally from Omugulugwombashe village in the Uukwaluudhi tribal district in Omusati Region, but was staying in Karibib at the time of his initial arrest.
