REHOBOTH, 09 NOV (NAMPA) - The suspect in the murder of Camila Gabriela Steyn, who was found dead at a construction site here on Sunday, made his first appearance in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court Monday.
Eldrin Goliath, 20, appeared before Magistrate Salome Bampton on charges of murder and robbery but the case was referred to Tuesday to sort out some court procedures.
During his second appearance Tuesday, Goliath was denied bail on the grounds that investigations are at an early stage and that the suspect might interfere with investigations.
Steyn, 17, was murdered between 01h00 and 05h00 Sunday in the Block B residential area. She was found inside a building under construction. Steyn had scratch marks on her face and neck, and the suspicion is that she might have been strangled to death.
The matter has been postponed to 01 December for the accused to get legal representation and for further police investigations.
Goliath remains in custody.
