Man stabs brother to death at Otjiwarongo

OTJIWARONGO, 06 NOV (NAMPA) - A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly stabbed his 31-year-old brother four times at the Orwetoveni location in Otjiwarongo the same day.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Liaison Officer, Sergeant Martha Andjamba told Nampa on Sunday the deceased has been identified as Jesaya Namaseb.
“His family members have been informed of his death,” she said.
Andjamba said the suspect first allegedly stabbed his 47-year-old sister once in the back.
Namaseb then allegedly attempted to stop his brother from attacking their sister further and in the process was stabbed three times in the chest and once in the left arm.
The incident happened at approximately 02h30.
Namaseb was taken to the Otjiwarongo State Hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival.
The wounded woman was admitted to the same hospital and is in a stable condition.
The suspect is Monday expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.
Police investigations continue.
