ONGWEDIVA, 06 NOV (NAMPA) – DTA of Namibia President, McHenry Venaani arrived at Ongwediva on Friday via public transport for his party’s central committee meeting in Oshakati on Saturday.
He was welcomed at the Select Service Station in the northern Namibia town by some senior members of his party at about 19h00 before proceeding to Oshakati.
Speaking to Nampa whilst disembarking a mini-bus, Venaani said he used public transport to test how it is this time of the year before the approaching festive season.
“Overloaded trailers is what I have noticed on my trip to here, hence my appeal for the public to make use of the train as a transport mode for their hefty goods,” the DTA president stated.
He said his trip was difficulty-free.
Venaani encouraged all motorists not to rush during the upcoming festive season and to adhere to traffic rules and road safety regulations.
He was the DTA’s keynote speaker at the Saturday meeting, which aimed at, among others, electing the party’s national executive committee.
