OSHAKATI, 03 NOV (NAMPA) - A 29-year-old Tsumeb resident was brought in for questioning at the Onayena Police Station in the Oshikoto Region on Wednesday on allegations of reckless and negligent driving.
According to Naomi Katjiua, Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner, the man was brought in after he allegedly drove into the back of a pick-up between Omuthiya and Ondangwa.
The accident occurred at around 12h40 at Oshapapa village.
The pick-up, driven by the 56-year-old Simon Shikongo, overturned.
“Shikongo sustained head injuries and was admitted to the hospital at Onandjokwe,” Katjiua told Nampa on Wednesday.
The truck driver escaped the accident unharmed.
A police docket has been sent to a public prosecutor to decide on whether the man should be charged or not.
