SWAKOPMUND, 02 NOV (NAMPA) - Two Swakopmund brothers appeared in the magistrate's court here Monday on charges of repeatedly raping a minor girl.
The suspects are Kosmos Sikongo, 29, and Kanyeva Simon Sikongo, 23. They allegedly had sexual intercourse with the nine-year-old-victim on several occasions earlier this year.
The girl informed her aunt about the incidences Friday.
Detective Chief Inspector Erastus Iikuyu of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) told Nampa on Wednesday the alleged rapes occurred at the victim’s home in the DRC informal settlement.
Kosmos is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother and stays in the same house.
“Kanyeva, who is a brother to Kosmos, also raped the girl on three occasions while the parents were out of the house,” reads the police incident report.
The two were remanded in police custody and are expected to return to court on 05 December 2016.
