Man dies after hammer attack at Omakange

OMAKANGE, 25 OCT (NAMPA) – A 65-year-old man died at the Omakange village in the Kunene Region on Monday after he was attacked with a hammer by a co-worker.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s crime investigations coordinator in the region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa on Tuesday the deceased has been identified as Thomas Johannes Hough.
He died on the spot.
It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect, who is a mechanical technician at Kunene Building Supplies, were arguing about a truck.
“Not much is known about the argument but the investigation is still ongoing,” the deputy commissioner said.
The Kunene police also reported a suspected suicide.
Paulus Muyambatji, 31, allegedly committed suicide on Monday at about 16h00 at Okangwati.
He did not leave behind a suicide note.
