WINDHOEK, 25 OCT (NAMPA) - A Zimbabwean national is said to be on the run after he allegedly stabbed his Namibian girlfriend at the weekend.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi told Nampa on Tuesday the suspected killer has been on the run since Sunday from about 03h00 when the alleged murder incident took place.
It is alleged that the Zimbabwean national killed his 34-year-old girlfriend, Concelia Mwangala Limbo at a house they were renting in the Wanaheda residential area.
The incident allegedly emanated from a heated argument between the two and escalated to her being stabbed in the back with an unknown object.
Afterwards, the suspect allegedly locked the room, leaving the deceased inside and fled the scene.
The landlord, who alerted the police, discovered Limbo’s body on Monday at about 15h00.
“The suspect is still on the run and we would therefore like to ask for assistance from members of the public in apprehending the suspected killer. Anyone with information in respect of the whereabouts of the suspect or the suspect himself should contact Sergeant Rauna Nghifindaka or the nearest police station,” said Shikwambi.
