Nakathila to fight in Russia

WINDHOEK, 12 OCT (NAMPA) - Jeremiah ‘No Respect’ Nakathila is scheduled to fight Russian Evgeny ‘Happy Gilmore’ Chuprakov for the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) InterContinental Super Featherweight title next month.
A media statement availed to Nampa by the Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy on Wednesday said the undefeated and current WBO Africa champion will face the current WBO Europe title-holder on 18 November.
Nakathila's promoter, Nestor Tobias was quoted in the statement as saying this is a good fight for a very talented boxer. He said a win will open doors for him in international boxing.
“He is already guaranteed another fight in Russia if he wins this one and we therefore take this fight and the opponent very seriously. Nakathila will give a good account of his fight and will represent Namibia with pride.”
The Namibian boxer is currently rated number-13 on the WBO World Boxing Rangkings and his last two fights were technical knockout (TKO) wins.
Chuprakov's last fight was also a win by TKO, making it a fight to watch.
Nakathila comes into this fight having fought 11 times with 11 wins. His last fight was against Jasper Seroka of South Africa who he beat in a knockout after 57 seconds in the eighth round.
Chuprakov comes into the fight with an impressive scorecard of 16 fights and 16 wins. In his last fight, he beat Sebastian Tlatlik in the second round, TKO as well.
Nakathila will leave Windhoek on 11 November to ensure that they have enough time to acclimatise to the weather conditions in Russia.
Promoter Tobias and trainer Tobias Nashilongo weill accompany him on his first fight outside Namibia.
