Security guard shoots herself dead

WINDHOEK, 26 SEP (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshana Region opened an inquest docket after a security guard allegedly shot herself with a shotgun while on duty on Saturday.
The incident took place at Shikalepo Pub in Onethindi village. NamPol Inspector Slogan Matheus told a media briefing here on Sunday that the deceased, 35-year-old Elizabeth Elias, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was employed by Waakali Security Company. She left no suicide note, and the next-of-kin have been informed.
In another incident, the Omungwelume Police Station also opened a docket of inquest after a 13-year-old boy was electrocuted at Okahenge village on Saturday.
It was reported that the deceased climbed onto an Amarula tree and pulled at live electrical wires that ran through nearby poles. The deceased, Henock Sallatiel, died at the scene.
