Man rapes daughter over period of time in Katima

WINDHOEK, 11 SEP (NAMPA) – An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped repeatedly between June and August this year by her 37-year-old biological father at the Matibelelo village of Katima Mulilo.
NamPol Spokesperson Slogan Matheus informed the media here Sunday the victim’s mother reported the incident to the police shortly after her return from Zambia.
The suspect fled the house on Friday, but was arrested on Saturday afternoon and will appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In an unrelated incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 32-year-old uncle on Friday at about 18h00 at the Ohaihana Village of the Ohangwena Region.
It is alleged that the suspect found the victim on her way to fetch water and told her to follow him so that he can give her N.dollars 1.
He then took her into a neighbour's yard and allegedly raped her.
The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In a separate case, a 31-year- old woman was allegedly hit with an empty bottle and raped by a man she asked to escort her home from a wedding because it was dark on Saturday in the Tsaraxaibes residential area of Otjiwarongo.
The suspect allegedly demanded sex from the victim as ‘payment’ for escorting her. When she refused, the man allegedly hit her with an empty bottle, causing an open wound, before proceeding to forcefully throw her to the ground and raping her.
The suspect, who is known to the victim, is still at large.
Police investigations into all matters continue.
