OSHAKATI, 07 SEP (NAMPA) - The Oshakati Town Council has announced the commencement of rehabilitation work on Kwame Nkrumah and Immanuel Shifidi streets in Oshakati East.
These streets have reached their lifespan, making them unfit for use.
A media statement issued by the town council’s corporate communications officer Katarina Kamari on Wednesday said the roads are being rehabilitated by the Zhong Mei Engineering Group at a cost of over N.dollars 24 million.
The project is expected to be completed by 30 June 2017.
“The scope of work for this project entails the rehabilitation the two roads for 4.5 kilometres, construction of storm water infrastructure and the construction of interlocked paved walkways,” she said.
The PRO added that since the project area is within established developments, suitable warning signs have been erected to warn road users, and contractors will work in portions to allow accessibility to houses, schools and ministries within the construction areas.
