RUNDU, 04 SEP (NAMPA) - A fire broke out at the Gondwana Collection's Hakusembe River Lodge early on Saturday.
The lodge is situated on the southern bank of the Okavango River, some 16 kilometres west of Rundu.
The fire is said to have started at 05h00 at a separate scullery building and spread over the lawn to the grass-roofed restroom at the swimming pool area.
“The fire was however quickly brought under control as the staff reacted promptly and extinguished it at around 07h00. No one was injured,” lodge manager, Edison Kaura said in a statement issued on Saturday.
He said the lodge’s operations were not affected by the fire.
The cause of the fire and the cost of the damage are yet to be determined.
