Four minor girls raped

WINDHOEK, 28 AUG (NAMPA) – Four minor girls were allegedly raped in separate incidents in the Zambezi, Omusati, Oshikoto and Kunene regions over the long weekend and last Monday.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Edwin Kanguatjivi informed the media about the cases on Sunday.
In the first incident, a 13-year-old girl was lured into the bushes and allegedly raped by a 35-year-old man during a wedding at the Oikokola village in the Etayi Constituency of the Omusati Region on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly gave the victim N.dollars 7 after the incident.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The second victim is a 12-year-old girl from the Nohoma village at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region. She was allegedly raped on Saturday by a Zambian national while the two were home alone.
The suspect, 35, is the husband of the victim’s aunt.
He has been arrested.
An 11-year-old girl was also allegedly raped on Saturday at Opuwo in the Kunene Region.
The minor was sleeping in a tent in the Ouranda location when the suspect entered the tent and had sexual intercourse with her.
The 43-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In the fourth incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped at the house of the 40-year-old suspect at King Kauluma village near Oshivelo in the Oshikoto Region on Monday.
