OTJIWARONGO, 25 AUG (NAMPA) - A man died after allegedly being stabbed by his brother at Omatako village in the Tsumkwe Constituency on Monday.
The 35-year-old man died in the Grootfontein State Hospital Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Thursday confirmed the incident.
It is alleged that an argument broke out between the man and his 31-year-old brother at their family’s home at Omatako on Monday at around 23h00.
“The younger brother then pulled out a knife and stabbed him twice - on the back and on his neck,” said Mbeha.
He was taken to the Grootfontein State Hospital, where he died the next day.
The motive behind their fight is still unknown, Mbeha said.
The suspect fled the scene since and is still on the run.
A case of murder has been opened against him at the Maroelaboom Police Station.
