Two men stabbed to death over weekend

WINDHOEK, 21 AUG (NAMPA) – A 19-year-old man died instantly after he was stabbed with a sharp object in Windhoek Friday night.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Head of Media Relations, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi said at the weekly crime briefing on Sunday the incident occurred at Greenwell Matongo in the Wanaheda residential area.
“A 17-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court. It is alleged that the two were involved in an argument,” she said.
The deceased has been identified as Elvis Presley Rooinasie. His next of kin have been informed.
In a separate incident, the police in Rehoboth are investigating a murder after Milton Klaassen, 26, succumbed to his injuries.
He was stabbed in the back with a screwdriver in the Block B residential area on Sunday. The suspect fled the scene and is yet to be arrested. His next of kin have been informed and the police investigation continues.
In the Erongo Region, a case of culpable homicide was opened after the driver of a Mercedes Benz died instantly when he collided head-on with a truck. The accident occurred between Usakos and Arandis Friday night. The driver has been identified as the 25-year-old Conrad Cloete.
The truck was driving from Usakos and the sedan in the opposite direction when the driver of the Mercedes lost control over the vehicle. His next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
In the Ohangwena Region, a 39-year-old man died instantly and 11 people sustained injuries when two vehicles collided head-on.
The accident occurred on Saturday on the Eenhana-Okongo main road at Etaka village.
The deceased has been identified as Wilhelm Nghitanua, whose next of kin have been informed.
