The two businesses donated the sport gear after leadership of the MWT Oshana regional sport team’s appealed for sponsorship.
The ministry introduced the championships last year and the maiden event was held in the Zambezi Region.
Shongolo pointed out that 60 athletes will represent the Oshana Region in Tsumeb in football, volleyball, netball, athletics and modelling.
Deputy Minister of Works and Transport James Sankwasa officiated at the donation handover, hosted by Kapya Engineering Services on Thursday.
Speaking to those present, Sankwasa stated that his ministry in 2015 embarked on a programme for wellness of its employees, which has resulted in the inception of the championships.
He said regional teams of the MWT from all 14 regions participate in the annual championships to build healthy bodies.
