WINDHOEK, 11 AUG - The City Police arrested two suspects after they were found in possession of suspected stolen items in the capital on Thursday.
The two suspects, who were out on bail after they were arraigned before court for being found in possession of suspected stolen property some two weeks ago, were re-arrested after they were once again found in possession of alleged stolen property.
According to Constable Fabian Amukwelele of the City Police’s Community Policing and Public Relations division, the two suspects were seen entering and exiting Woermann Brock in Klein Windhoek, which triggered police suspicion.
“Our officer pursued them and they were later pulled off at the southern industrial area and upon inspection of the vehicle a lot of items were found in the car, including dishwashing liquid and car cleaning products,” Amukwelele said.
He appealed to shop owners and members of the public in Windhoek's southern industrial area who may have products missing, especially those that are in transit from the manufacturer to the retailers, to approach the City Police.
“We are deeply concerned because it’s an ongoing occurrence. In a week we receive two to three cases that are similar so we are calling on members of the public to always verify their products,” the constable said.
