ONGWEDIVA, 04 AUG (NAMPA) – A 27-year-old man died in the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital Wednesday night after his biological father and brother allegedly beat him on the head with hoe handles earlier the same day.
Crime investigations coordinator of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshikoto Region, Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua informed Nampa on Thursday the 72-year-old father and 32-year-old brother have been arrested and charged with murder.
Their names are withheld because they are yet to appear in court at Ondangwa.
Katjiua said the two suspects allegedly assaulted Andreas Kulya, apparently for violently attacking his 61-year-old biological mother whilst asking her about his bed sheets that apparently went missing.
According to the Police, the incident took place in their family homestead at the Oshikoto Region’s Omulondo village around 19h00 Wednesday.
“It was not the first time the deceased attacked family members violently, although no cases were reported before,” Katjiua explained.
