Cabinet approves proposed amendments to Property Valuers Act

WINDHOEK, 03 AUG (NAMPA) - Cabinet at its meeting held Tuesday approved the proposed amendments to the Property Valuers Profession Act, 2012 (Act No. 7 of 2012).
Addressing a media conference in the capital on Wednesday, Minister of Information and Communication Technology Tjekero Tweya said Cabinet also authorised the Minister of Land Reform to table amendments in the National Assembly.
He added that Cabinet also approved the proposed Uniform Matrimonial Property Regime Bill, which would appeal the Native Administration Proclamation No. 15 of 1982.
Cabinet therefore authorised the Minister of Justice to table the said Bill at the Cabinet Committee on Legislation (CCL) for further scrutiny before it is tabled by the Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration in the National Assembly.
Tweya said Cabinet took note of the eighth Progress Report of the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP4) and directed Cabinet members to take the lead in following up on the recommendations of progress report.
It (Cabinet) approved that report and directed the National Planning Commission to share the report with stakeholders as per the stipulation of NDP4.
“Cabinet approved the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan with effect from 2016,” the ICT Minister stressed.
Cabinet took note of the Integrated National Performance Framework and approved it for launching and roll out, subject to the incorporation of a planning system into the framework.
It approved that Cabinet members be directed to participate in the Framework's launch activities.
