Police call for identification of body found in Otjomuise

WINDHOEK, 31 JUL (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) have called on residents of Otjomuise and Windhoek at large to assist in identifying a body found hanging dead in the Otjomuise mountains.
NamPol spokesperson Slogan Matheus said the body of an adult man was found at an advanced stage of decomposition, hanging from a rope under a tree on Saturday at about 19h00.
The deceased was discovered by members of the public, who alerted the police.
In the Zambezi Region, 58-year-old Francis Luhambe Muyahe was found dead in the bush near the road in the Kongola village on Saturday morning.
It is alleged the deceased left his house on Thursday to go to a cuca-shop but never returned home.
His body was discovered by relatives who went looking for him.
No foul play is suspected. However, the police will conduct a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
In the Erongo Region, the body of Alma Tjivikua, estimated to be 40 years old, was discovered in a street of the Usab informal settlement in the Karibib area on Sunday at about 05h00.
There were no visible marks or wounds on her body.

In the Khomas Region, the body of 28-year-old Hifikepunye Ndalandelwamo was found naked in a riverbed at Havana Informal settlement on Saturday at bout 05h20.
It is suspected the deceased was murdered. However, no suspect has been arrested in this case.
Police investigation continues.
In another suspected murder case, the Wanaheda Police Station registered the death of a man, who was found dead with gunshot wounds in his back and chest on Sunday at about 01h30 along Maseru Street in the Katutura area.
The police collected three spent cartridges on the scene. No one has yet been arrested.
The deceased has not been identified and police investigations into the matter continue.
