Man dies instantly after being hit by car at Shankara

RUNDU, 31 JUL (NAMPA) - A 56-year-old man died instantly after he was hit by a car on Saturday at the Shankara village in the Ndiyona Constituency.
The incident took place at around 16h30 at the village, situated some 80 kilometres east of Rundu.
The deceased has been identified as Josef Thikundeko. His next of kin have been informed.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) acting Crime Investigation Coordinator for Kavango East, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday the driver of a Honda was trying to overtake a Jeep, but lost control after hitting the Jeep on its side.
The driver of the Honda then lost control and hit Thikundeko, who was walking alongside the road.
In another incident, a 44-year-old man was found hanging dead from a tree at the Kahanga village in the Mukwe Constituency on Saturday.
He has been identified as Thapira Mbambo. His next of kin have been informed.
It has been reported that Mbambo left his house last Sunday.
No suicide note was found.
