Pensioner dies of unknown causes at Kangweru village

RUNDU, 24 JUL (NAMPA) – The body of an 82-year-old woman was found at Kangweru village in the Kavango East Region on Saturday.
The village is situated in the Ndiyona Constituency.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s acting Crime Investigation Coordinator for Kavango East, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday Rosmarie Makena’s body was found outside her house near the Okavango River.
She is thought to have left her room in the early hours of Saturday and crawled to the river.
Mubebo said it is suspected said that once she was outside, the cold could have taken its toll on the pensioner.
No foul play is suspected in the matter.
Her body was transported to the Nyangana District Hospital mortuary and her next of kin have been informed.
