WINDHOEK, 15 JUL (NAMPA) - Senior rugby team captain Tjiuee Uanivi and vice-captain Theuns Kotzé are calling on Namibian supporters to come support the national team when it takes on Kenya here on Saturday.
The two teams clash in an Africa Cup Division 1A match at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday at 15h00.
Namibia defeated Uganda 40-31 in its first match of the 2016 Africa Cup Division 1A in Uganda two weeks ago.
Kenya beat Zimbabwe, the fourth member of the group, 61-15 in their opening Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) CAR Cup match last weekend.
Namibia face Zimbabwe here on 06 August in the last group game.
The winner of the group will be crowned Africa Cup champion and qualifies for the 2019 Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan.
In a previous match against Kenya, Namibia won 46-13.
Uanivi told Nampa on Thursday the players worked hard and look forward to play Kenya.
Kenya is a strong opponent and should not be underestimated. They are currently having a good run of wins in their last two games, but we are also a good team and we will do our level best to get the much needed points on Saturday, he said.
Kotze too called on Namibian fans to fill the stadium and cheer them on as the game is very important in the teams journey for another World Cup representation.
This will be our first game at home since we played Russia (in July last year) during our 2015 World Cup preparations, he said.
