EENHANA, 15 JUL (NAMPA) - Preparations for the ninth edition of the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo are in full swing.
The expo will start on 25 September 2016 as scheduled, its manager Ndawedwa Mwandingi said.
Speaking to Nampa at Eenhana on Wednesday, Mwandingi noted that the expo has received an overwhelming interest from exhibitors who have booked close to 400 stalls that the preparatory committee has made available for the event this time around.
Due to increasing annual demands for exhibition stands, Mwandingi said the preparatory committee has decided to increase the show spaces from last year’s 260 to 400 stalls.
The Eenhana expo is held at the Eenhana Multi-purpose Youth Resource Centre, which falls under the Ministry of Sport and National Youth Services since its inception.
The Eenhana Town Council is however in the process of establishing its own show ground in the near future.
Mwandingi has expressed satisfaction with some 60 corporate entities that have booked stands where they will showcase their products and services.
He singled out the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration as one government entity that will attract many visitors, especially those who are in need of Namibian personal identification documents.
An agriculture show will also feature during the expo, as part of the Eenhana Town Council’s efforts to promote the creation of agriculture ventures in and around the town.
Mwandingi at the same time announced that the official opening of the expo will be on 27 July.
“Marketing of the expo is not a problem, but we cannot accommodate as many exhibitors as we want to in the absence of an appropriate show ground of our own,” the Eenhana expo manager narrated.
Sporting events such as a boxing bonanza also forms part of the expo and it will be hosted in the last two days of the fair.
A joint venture between Phillip Hikumuah of Maryn Properties and Erastus Nikodemus of the Greywall Properties is the main sponsor of the 2016 Eenhana expo, after the two businessmen pledged the highest amount of N.dollars 220 000 during the fundraising gala dinner held in May.
The expo ends on 30 September 2016.
